Detox routine is an all-natural method of giving your body the time and conditions it can use to rebuild and heal. There are many different detox routines in the natural health arena: water fasting, juice fasting, minimal eating, herbal detox, detox baths, colon cleansing.
Fasting is one of the most popular detox method. Fasts have the best results in chronic ailments. Most people are quite capable of doing a three day water fast. Be sure to obtain purified water only. During these three days, slow down your daily physical activities. It is better to take to bed and keep the body warm.
Before any kind of fasting be sure to eat a meal or two of raw salad, vegetables or fruits -- no meat eggs or dairy products.When you fast, you can use either juices, lemonade made with maple syrup, broths, or water. It is also possible to fast eating one kind of food exclusively for a period of time. For example, Macrobiotics often fast by eating just brown rice, others fast on bread and water.
Try to get organic produce and pure water for your fast. A juicer is very helpful equipment for fasting but not absolutely necessary.
Why fast?
Sometimes it is beneficial to miss a meal or several. Fasting is body “safe mode of operation" we know very little about. When feeling not well, children refuse to eat. As we grown up we are told to that we must eat so we lost touch with this natural type of healing.
